Description[]
Lice (singular: louse) are wingless insects of the order Phthiraptera. They are obligatory ectoparasites of warm-blooded hosts. There are two types of lice depending on their feeding mechanism. Chewing lice live among the hairs or feathers of their host and feed on skin and debris, while sucking lice pierce the host's skin and feed on blood and other secretions.
At one point in Awful Hospital, the relationship between some lice and their host, Eyeda Sorrit, had reversed, resulting in a giant louse covered in pink gooey eyeballs.Over time, this louse grows bigger and the pinkeye infection worsens, covering its eyes. Eventually it turns all pink and lifeless with a slimy, pulsing pod suspended on a stalk.

We first see lice in the Noisy Tenant media in Awful Hospital where Fern uses the "louse treatment" on Eyeda Sorrit. There also was a picture of one in her room.
Trivia[]
- The "louse treatment" item doesn't get you rid of lice, but instead gives you lice, the bottle being like a saltshaker full of them.
- It's also worth noting that the louse painting changed into a clown painting before we see Eyeda's clown lice. This brings into question if we just perceive lice as clowns or if the clown lice can look like normal lice.
