Spookovision is the name given to a phenomenon where perception shifts and everything looks more horrifying, in a very similar theme like Silent Hill. Some creatures can only be encountered in this state. Even the most innocent things can look disturbing or gory here. This is strongly linked to emotional factors, as seen in Don't Get Spooked where if you get spooked three times you enter Spookovision mode. The only way to reverse the effects is by looking at the cat picture. So it seems that you need to be exposed to the most un-spookiest things in order to return to your normal perception.
